Safety

Safety’s our top priority
Safety’s our top priority, plain and simple. Follow the guidelines below to make sure everyone has a good time and avoid accidents.
Stuff happens. Before you take off, give the vehicle a quick check to make sure there are no issues.
You have brakes for a reason (to slow down). Brake early, use gradual pressure, and avoid quick squeezes.
Our automatic lights make you more visible and less likely to hit something.
Riding safely is your top job, but always wear a helmet – just in case.
Make sure everything is stowed properly to avoid randomly flying objects.
Make sure you properly lock and unlock your vehicle to keep moving parts away from other moving parts.
Cars are bigger than you, and they hurt. Be vigilant and follow all local traffic laws.
Keep your eyes peeled for stuff like traffic cones, potholes, and pedestrians.
Inspect and maintain
Hoppy will proactively inspect and maintain each of its vehicles every night to improve safety, reliability, and performance. Our team will monitor the entire fleet’s condition each day. Should vehicles require repair, Hoppy will carry a local supply of spare parts and replacement vehicles to ensure the operation continues smoothly.
Safety partners
Tandemriding
To ensure safety, our scooters are equipped with technology that prevents tandem riding. Ride solo and enjoy a smooth, safe experience!
Geofence technology
We are really focused on geofencing technology, which allows councils to better control where, and how fast LEV’s can be ridden.
Using GPS and geolocation, we work with councils to implement slow-zones, no-go zones and to dedicate parking zones that best suit their towns and cities.
Closca Helmets
At Hoppy, we make sure that safety can be fun! Our folding helmets, developed in collaboration with the fantastic team at Closca, are a perfect blend of style and protection.
Although wearing a helmet may not always be mandatory, we always recommend at Hoppy to use one because safety is our top priority!
Computer vision
Our scooters are equipped with advanced computer vision technology that detects sidewalks and other restricted areas, helping to ensure responsible and compliant riding at all times.
