Our Story
Around 2019, shared scooters began appearing in many European cities. But in the early days, the rollout was often chaotic. The vehicles were deployed without clear rules, and the scooters were left lying all over the streets. We saw scooters blocking pavements, lying on the ground and causing frustration for cities and residents.
At that point, we thought: this concept is brilliant, but it needs to be better organised.
From the outset, we at Hoppy have opted for a different approach. We do not use free-floating systems. We operate exclusively within designated parking zones.
This ensures:
- Order in public spaces
- Clear expectations for users
- And better control for the city
Shared mobility should not cause chaos. It should improve the city. We are not a company that enters a city and disappears again after a year. We build systems together with local authorities, for the long term.
Our Mission
Hoppy is an ambitious mobility partner with plans for ecological and shared urban transport.Urbanization is increasing and air quality is deteriorating. That’s why we need to switch to sustainable ways of shared and public mobility solutions.
The pressure on public space is also pushing us to switch on compact ‘light electric vehicles’ instead of our own and unused transport. Increasing urbanization is forcing us to accommodate more people transport with less large, polluting and own means of transport.
Our mission is to create an ecological, shared and sustainable to offer a means of transport to make the city liveable for everyone to keep.
