Discover Hoppy in Oostende
Hoppy is now available in Oostende
You will find our shared scooters scattered throughout the city, with clear rules for parking and safety.
Important innovation in Oostende
In the old city center, we are working with fixed parking zones instead of free floating. This provides more clarity, less nuisance, and a more pleasant public space.
Where do you have to park in fixed spaces?
In busy and sensitive areas, shared scooters must always be parked in designated spaces.
The scooter knows where you are: your ride cannot be ended if you do not park correctly.
This applies to:
- the old city center(Leopold II-laan – Vindictivelaan – Visserskaai – Van Iseghemlaan)
- the entire Zeedijk (from Middelkerke to Zeeheldenplein)
- the Leopoldpark
- the Maria-Hendrikapark
Where can you still park freely?
Outside the above zones, free parking is permitted, as long as you do not obstruct anyone and the scooter is parked correctly according to the app instructions.
Slow speed zones
In certain zones, your scooter will automatically slow down for extra safety.
These slow speed zones apply:
- in all pedestrian zones, shopping streets, and pedestrian streets
- on the Albert I promenade (Zeedijk) between Koningspark and Zeeheldenplein
Period:
from the Easter holidays until the end of September, daily from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
No-go zones
For reasons of safety, peace, and public order, shared scooters are not allowed in certain zones.
If you enter such a zone, the scooter will automatically stop.
These include:
- the Westerstaketsel
- the Station parking lot and Stationplein
- the Goede Windhelling
- the Port area
- the Hendrik Baelskaai (along the quay)
- the footpath along the Spuikom near Schietbaanstraat
- all cemeteries
